[ARCHIVED] Flooding 2018

Image of flooded yard

If you live along the levee in the cities of Hutchinson or South Hutchinson, you will see water inside the levee. This is a normal occurrence. The flap gates are closed and there are no problems with them. You can also expect to see some designed under seepage around the levee areas. This means you may see more standing water in your yards. The under seepage can make its way into your basement. Do not wait for the water to enter your residence, immediately bring your valuables upstairs. City Flood Control personnel will continue to monitor the levees.
