Hutchinson High School students in the Rise Up Reno prevention network Kara Cape, Jaycie Rutherford, and Hailey Cape and Reno County Health Department Educators Tonya Culp and Thomas Simmons shared information with people about the Great American Smokeout and gave out free hot chocolate during Third Thursday. Information was handed out about KanQuit and other smoking cessation programs so people who want to quit smoking or know someone who would like to quit could learn about
the programs available to them. They could sign a pledge card telling people what they would do instead of smoking. Some pledges were "I'll go for a walk when I feel like vaping, I'll talk to my Aunt about KanQuit, and I'll eat healthy when I feel like smoking."
