Reno County launches web-based Digital Budget Book powered by ClearGov

Reno County, Kansas – October 13, 2023

Reno County has announced the availability of their new web-based Digital Budget Book powered by ClearGov, a provider of Budget Cycle Management software for local governments. Reno County’s comprehensive Digital Budget Book includes the general county budget along with the special districts budget. The Digital Budget Book is accessed online through an easy-to-navigate website with interactive content to make complex financial data easy to understand. Direct links are:

“We encourage Reno County residents to visit our Digital Budget Book and view the county’s budget through the interactive website, which is a new and better way to explain all of the services provided by the county and shows the resources needed to provide those services,” said Randy Partington, Reno County Administrator. The Digital Budget Books can also be accessed on the Reno County website at https://www.renogov.org/Budgets

The ClearGov platform enables elected officials to better understand what is included in the budget and allows them to make informed, fact-based decisions about budgets, hiring, economic development and more. The Digital Budget Book is divided into Introduction, Fund Summaries, Funding Sources, Departments/Divisions/Agencies and Capital Improvements sections.

“This new enhancement in our budget systems is a great step forward in making the complexity of government budgets and spending easier for all to understand.  I'm excited that the county is using technology to increase our transparency and better inform our citizens of how their money is being spent,” said Reno County Commission Chairman Daniel Friesen.

Reno County chose the ClearGov platform as it automates almost all the budget book creation process using templates and data-driven charts and tables. This new level of transparency helps to better inform citizens and build confidence in local government.

While on the website, viewers can request a PDF download of the entire Digital Budget Book, helping to save on printing costs. They can also request specific sections they want to download, making it easy to export and print the pages most important to them.
