Pinwheel gardens are a visual reminder of Child Abuse Prevention Month

Erica Laudick, Family Engagement Coordinator for the Kansas Children's Service League Healthy Families, spoke about the pinwheel gardens that are appearing in front of locations in Hutchinson like the Reno County Annex and Health Department. Pinwheels are a visual sign reminding people that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. These pinwheel gardens are displayed with an informational sign "to serve as a visual reminder that we want all children to grow up happy, healthy, and prepared to succeed," according to the Kansas Children's Service League website. During the month of April, the Week of the Young Child is also celebrated from April 17-21, 2023, with many events occurring in Hutchinson.
