A vaccination clinic for K-12 school employees is scheduled for this Sunday, February 28 as part of a collaboration between the Medicine Shoppe, Reno County Schools, and the Reno County Health Department.
The Medicine Shoppe was notified late last week that they would receive 1,000 doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. Pharmacist Lacey Stone then reached out to the Reno County Health Department to collaborate on a distribution plan. School employees have been identified as a priority by the Reno County Board of Commissioners so that in-person instruction can resume safely.
The Salthawk Activity Center (SAC) in Hutchinson will be the location for the clinic which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Medicine Shoppe staff, nurses from all districts, school volunteers, and the Health Department will staff the clinic. A pre-registration link is being sent to districts and schools to distribute to staff. All K-12 school employees are eligible. The pre-registration form will identify a specific appointment time so that proper social distancing can be maintained. Attendees are asked to bring in their completed registration form and a copy of their insurance card. No walk-ins will be accepted.
