Additional information regarding mortgages

  • Mortgage Registration Tax calculated at .05 cents per $100.00 of the principal amount of indebtedness. K.S.A. 79-3102.
    • Tip: on a calculator, take the “amount of indebtedness” x .0005 = Mortgage Registration Tax
  • Filing Fees are capped at $125.00 for a single family, principal residence under $75,000.00. A Mortgage Cap Affidavit is required to be exempt from fees over $125.00. However, mortgage registration is not capped.
  • All Affidavits are figured into the Recording fee for the mortgage.
