Information, Assistance, Referral, and Advocacy
Social and Human Service Assistants from the RCDA provide up-to-date information to consumers regarding services and programs available in the State of Kansas and specifically in Reno County.
A Social and Human Service Assistant offers assistance to consumers and/or families to assess the needs of the senior consumer, offer available resource options and assist in completion of applications when needed. When appropriate, the Social and Human Service Assistant can process a referral to that resource option.
Additionally, the Social and Human Service Assistant may in some instances provide advocacy for the senior consumer.
Staff provides information on senior services and issues through presentations to civic organizations, senior groups, and other interested parties upon invitation.
Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SHICK)
Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SHICK) is a grant funded State program educating the public and assists consumers on topics related to Medicare and health insurance so the consumer can make informed decisions.
