Sheriff Henderson is a graduate of Hutchinson Community College and has a Bachelors Degree in Administration of Public Safety, from National American University. He has held a Certificate of Instruction from Louisiana State University, Department of Counter-Terrorism and is a graduate of the National Sheriff's Institute and the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. He is also a graduate of the 227th FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia. Sheriff Henderson oversees an 80 person department and two detention facilities, serving a population of approximately 65,000 and covering 1250 square miles. |
Randy Henderson was appointed Reno County Sheriff in January 2002, after 25 years of service with the Hutchinson Police Department where he was a Patrol Lieutenant. Throughout his years of service he was a member of the department Special Operations Response Team and has instructed numerous SWAT teams from around the state. He was responsible for designing School Crisis Responses for all Reno County Schools and has been a certified instructor on Law Enforcement's Response to Weapons of Mass Destruction.
