Who else may be assigned?

The law also requires that probation violators must be assigned to community corrections supervision before being revoked and sent to prison unless the violation includes a new conviction or the Court makes a finding that the public safety or the offender’s welfare would not be served by doing so.

The law further provides that community corrections programs may provide services to juveniles if approved by the local community corrections board. Grant funds administered by KDOC cannot be used for this purpose, however.
